From a 60+ Year Legacy to a Digital Business Platform: The MEPCO Story

How PickleMonk helped MEPCO bring together brand storytelling, digital experience and business infrastructure

Some companies need a website.

Some need a business system.

And some brands need their story told before any of that begins.

MEPCO – The Metal Powder Company Limited is a company built on more than six decades of manufacturing expertise and industry experience. Its reputation has been shaped by its products, processes, people and long-standing relationships across the metal powder industry.

For a business of that scale, digital communication has to do more than look good.

It has to tell the story, explain the business and support the business.

That became the foundation of our work with MEPCO.

What started with a corporate brand film evolved into a much larger digital transformation—bringing together the brand story, website, product catalogue, dealer workflows, content management, visitor management and the systems operating behind the experience.

The work came together across three connected layers:

Brand Storytelling → Digital Experience → Business System

It Started With the Story

Before we worked on the website, PickleMonk produced MEPCO’s corporate brand film.

The objective was to take everything that makes MEPCO a significant industrial business—its manufacturing capabilities, people, processes, products and legacy—and turn it into a visual story.

Industrial businesses often have a lot worth talking about.

The challenge is making people feel the scale before explaining the specifications.

The film gave us an opportunity to do exactly that.

It wasn't simply a corporate video. It became a way for MEPCO to present its business to customers, partners, stakeholders and other audiences who needed to understand the company beyond a product catalogue.

And that experience gave us something valuable when the next phase began:

We already understood the brand.

Turning a Complex Business Into a Clear Digital Experience

The next challenge was the website.

MEPCO's existing digital presence needed to better represent the scale and depth of the business. But this wasn't simply a visual redesign.

The website needed to make a technically complex company easier to understand.

MEPCO has products with different specifications, grades and applications. It has manufacturing locations, dealers and distributors. And it serves multiple audiences, each looking for different information.

So instead of designing the website simply around pages, we designed it around how people actually explore an industrial business.

The result was a structured digital experience bringing together MEPCO's products, applications, capabilities, presence and company story in one place.

Making a Complex Product Catalogue Easier to Explore

One of the most important parts of the website is the product catalogue.

Rather than treating the product range as a collection of static pages, we structured it as a system.

Products can be organised through:

  • Categories
  • Applications
  • Technical specifications
  • Grades
  • Product-specific information

This gives customers a clearer route through a technically complex product portfolio.

Less searching. More understanding.

Making MEPCO's Scale Visible

MEPCO's presence extends across manufacturing facilities, dealers, distributors and sales networks.

We created a structured location experience that makes this network easier to explore.

Locations can be organised region-wise, with an interactive mapping experience covering manufacturing units and the wider dealer and distributor network.

The objective was simple:

Don't just tell people how large the business is. Show them.

Then We Built the System Behind It

This is where the project moved beyond conventional website development.

The public-facing website was only one part of what MEPCO needed.

Behind the experience, we built a custom digital system to manage the information and workflows supporting the business.

The system brought together:

  • Product information
  • Dealer interactions
  • Content
  • Documents
  • User access
  • Pricing
  • Visitor management
  • Internal workflows

The website became the front door.

The backend became the operating layer behind it.

A Dealer Portal Built for B2B

We developed a dedicated dealer portal with quote generation.

Dealers can log in, select products and generate estimates through a workflow designed to feel familiar and straightforward.

Behind the interface, the system tracks quote activity and connects pricing with existing inventory software.

A traditionally manual interaction becomes a structured digital workflow.

The dealer gets simplicity.

MEPCO gets visibility and control.

A CMS That Puts MEPCO in Control

A business with a growing product portfolio shouldn't need a developer every time something needs to be updated.

So we built an admin-controlled CMS.

The MEPCO team can manage:

  • Products
  • Website content
  • PDFs
  • Documents
  • Digital resources
  • Other website assets

The CMS gives the business ownership of the platform after launch.

Build it once. Keep improving it yourself.

Bringing Documents and Digital Resources Together

Technical businesses constantly work with documents.

Product literature, PDFs, specifications and other resources need to be uploaded, maintained and shared.

We built file and link management directly into the backend, allowing authorised users to upload files and generate shareable links.

Everything stays connected to the same digital ecosystem.

Access Designed Around the Organisation

A large organisation doesn't need every user to see or manage everything.

The backend includes role-based user management and module-level permissions.

Different users and departments can be given access based on their responsibilities.

That brings structure to the way the platform is used internally.

One system. Different roles. Controlled access.

Taking the Digital Experience Beyond the Screen

The Visitor Pass Management System was another important part of the project.

Visitors can apply for entry, upload identification documents and submit their request for approval.

The relevant department can review and approve the request before access is granted.

The workflow also incorporates QR-based visitor management.

So the digital system doesn't stop when someone closes the browser.

It continues all the way to the factory gate.

Making the Products More Visual

Alongside the website and backend, we worked on the visual assets required to communicate MEPCO's products better.

We conducted a two-day product photography shoot, creating a consistent product image library for the digital experience.

We also produced a 3D video for website integration, allowing technical information and industrial processes to be communicated visually.

The objective wasn't decoration.

It was clarity.

If a product is difficult to explain, sometimes the best solution is to show it.

Building for Search

The website was also developed with on-page SEO in mind.

The content and page structure were organised to create a stronger foundation for search discovery around MEPCO's products, applications and areas of expertise.

For a specialised industrial business, being understood by search engines is just as important as being understood by customers.

One Relationship. Three Layers of Work.

Looking at the project as a whole, the work came together across three connected layers.

01. Brand Story

Corporate Brand Film

We told the story of MEPCO's people, capabilities, manufacturing strength and legacy.

02. Digital Experience

Website Design & Development

We created a clearer, more structured way for customers and stakeholders to understand and explore the business.

03. Business Infrastructure

CMS + Dealer Portal + Digital Workflows

We built the systems that help MEPCO manage products, content, dealers, documents, users and visitors.

The three aren't separate pieces.

They work together.

The film tells the story.

The website communicates the story.

The system keeps the business moving.

From Manufacturing Legacy to a Digital Business Platform

The transformation can be seen in a series of simple shifts:

From manufacturing legacy → to a story people can experience.

From complex product information → to a structured catalogue.

From manual dealer interaction → to a digital quote workflow.

From developer dependency → to admin-controlled content.

From scattered documents → to centralised digital resources.

From manual visitor handling → to a structured approval workflow.

From a website → to a digital business platform.

More Than a Website

MEPCO didn't just get a new website.

It got a connected digital ecosystem.

Customers and partners have a clearer way to explore the company and its products.

Dealers have a more structured way to interact with the business.

Internal teams have greater control over content, documents, users and workflows.

Visitors have a more organised digital entry process.

And the brand has a stronger way to communicate its scale and legacy through film and digital.

The interesting part of this project isn't that we built a website for a large industrial company.

It's that we had the opportunity to work across the story, the experience and the system behind it.

We started with the brand film.

Then we built the digital experience.

Then we built the infrastructure behind that experience.

And that's how the pieces came together.

A brand story people can connect with.

A website people can understand.

A system the business can actually use.
